Easy booking, quick trip

Booked a 'Whitsunday Apartments' stay. Website was easy to use. Airport transfer was on time. Room was clean, good view. Whitehaven Beach tour was fun. Left feeling relaxed. Good trip.

Had a good time at Beach Club

So, my partner and I went for a romantic getaway at the Beach Club. Honestly, the vibe there was super chill, just what we needed. The room was really nice, felt fancy but not stuffy, you know? We did a sunset cruise, which was pretty sweet, saw some cool views. The food at the resort restaurants was decent, had some good seafood. The 'early bird special' deal we got made it feel like we got a good deal too. No complaints, had a blast.

Detailed stay at Palm Bungalows

I booked a 3-night stay at the Palm Bungalows. The booking process on the website was pretty straightforward, found the 'family escape package' easily. Confirmation email came through quickly. Getting to the island was simple with the included airport transfers, which was a nice touch. The bungalow itself was clean and felt private. We did a Great Barrier Reef day trip, booked directly through the website too, and that was well organized, they picked us up on time. The staff at reception were helpful when I asked about paddleboard rentals. Only small thing was the Wi-Fi in the bungalow was a bit spotty sometimes, but not a huge deal since we were mostly out. Overall, a good experience, everything mostly as described.

Consistent experience, good value

Another solid booking with Hamilton Island. I've stayed at the Reef View Hotel a few times now, and the 'Stay 5 Pay 4' deal made it even better this trip. The airport transfers were smooth, as usual. It's why I keep coming back, things just work here, no surprises. The room was clean, same as previous visits, and the breakfast buffet was decent.

What's the go with golf on the island? Is it easy to just book a round or do you need to do it way in advance, especially during peak times?

K Katie Mitchell 1 week ago
You should definitely book golf ahead of time, especially if you're going during school holidays or Race Week. Those spots fill up fast.

I've played there a few times. If it's peak season, you absolutely need to book well in advance. Otherwise, you might get lucky with a last-minute slot but don't count on it.

how does Hamilton Island compare to say, Airlie Beach for a holiday? Is it worth the extra cost for the island itself?

O Olivia Allen 1 week ago
Hamilton Island is way more resort-y and self-contained. Airlie is more a base for tours and has more budget options for food/drinks. If you want everything on your doorstep and a bit more luxury, HI is worth it.

Totally different vibes. Airlie is more backpacking/party town, and you'd do day trips. Hamilton is the destination, everything is there. It's more expensive but you're paying for convenience and the island experience. Depends on what you're looking for.

Does anyone know if airport transfers are usually included with bookings? Flying into HIE and trying to figure out how we get to the hotel.

L Linda Wright 3 weeks ago
Pretty sure they are! Most of the accommodation options include it, especially if you book directly through HI. Just double check your specific booking details.

Yeah, for most hotels on the island, the transfers from the airport to your hotel and back are part of the deal. They usually have a whole system set up with staff waiting at the airport.

Thinking of doing a family trip to Hamilton Island. Is it really family-friendly, like, enough to keep kids entertained? We have two primary school age kids.

M Matt H. 1 week ago
Totally! We went with our 8 and 10 year olds last year and they loved it. There's a kids club, pools, and heaps of activities like mini golf and stuff. Plus the wildlife park is cool.

Yep, very family friendly. My kids loved the buggy rentals, that was probably their favorite part lol. Lots of options for keeping them busy.

hey, trying to book a trip for later this year. do they ever have actual promo codes, or is it mostly just those package deals?

A Amanda Mitchell 2 weeks ago
Nah, I've never seen a real promo code for them. It's always those 'deals and packages' stuff where the discount is already applied.

M Mark Lopez 2 weeks ago
Yeah, what the other person said. Just keep an eye on their 'deals' page, that's where all the savings are. No separate codes to enter anywhere.
